NaNoWriMo starts in two days. Two Days! I'm not nearly as ready as I wanted to be. I have a partial outline ready but no where near finished. I have my character sketches done and know the basics of the plot, yet I feel as though I'm going into this without too much info. I'm not going to pressure myself into writing 1,667 words a day. Some days I might write more, others, most likely, will be a lot less. But, I'm really going to try and reach 50K.
I won NaNo two years ago and was thrilled. And I wasn't half as ready as I am now. So, maybe I can do this. Right?
I think I bite off more than I can chew which is my own fault. I feel as though everything I write has to be perfect the first time. I guess its because I don't want to spend the time revising and editing, but that is part of the job of being a writer. Aarrggh! I tend to edit as I go along. Most writers say that's a bad thing. Others will say, 'Hey, go for it!" Maybe I'll just flip a coin and decide that way.
So, with that being said, I'm going to spend the day finalizing my outline unless my husband has other plans for me. Which he better not, . . .or else. He just doesn't get it. Oh wait, he just came in and wants me to go to Walmart to buy a shower curtain. Really? Big Sigh.
Reaching 50K is going to be a struggle.
